Lucy Bicks
Educational Background
Ph.D., Mount Sinai School of Medicine
B.S., Vassar College
Research Focus
Lucy is a post-doctoral fellow who is working to identify potential convergent mechanisms in autism through identifying how many different mutations that are highly penetrant for ASD, converge on common cellular phenotypes that alter developmental trajectories to result in disrupted adult brain states, including disruptions in excitatory and inhibitory balance in a 3D cell culture system that allows for emergent properties of brain development to be studied in vitro, such as neuronal migration and network formation. She is collaborating with the Prober lab at Caltech using similar methods in zebrafish.
