Research Focus

Le is a post-doctoral fellow who is particularly interested in tauopathy-related dementia, such as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Tauopathies share a clearly defined cellular phenotype, i.e., accumulation of tau aggregates. However, the brain regions and pathological phenotypes affected by tau accumulation can be dramatically different among these conditions. It would fundamentally change the way we think about these diseases if we could identify convergent mechanisms underlying the seemingly heterogenous phenotypes. His main project is on dissecting molecular mechanisms linking H1/H2 haplotype to tauopathy-related dementia.
