Gilad Levy

Gilad is a postdoctoral fellow studying how gene dosage dysregulation contributes to autism spectrum disorder (ASD). His research focuses on ASD-associated copy number variants (CNVs), which disrupt multiple dosage-sensitive genes during early cortical development and are not well addressed by current gene-therapy approaches. In the Geschwind lab, Gilad is developing enhancer-targeted CRISPR-based transcriptional activation (CRISPRa) strategies to restore endogenous gene dosage across multi-gene CNVs, using ASD-associated induced pluripotent stem cells models, neuronal cultures, and human cortical organoids to assess molecular and functional rescue.
